The Process in a Nutshell
Find your Inspiration
​Visit local furniture stores and/or flip through some of your favorite catalogs to find examples of furniture pieces that inspire you. Your home is your sanctuary and everything in it should be a calming + joyful reflection of you and your unique style.

When you find something that 'fits', look deeper to discover what it is exactly that you like about that particular piece - are the lines straight or curvy (Scandinavian vs. French Provincial), is it visually big and bulky or petite and dainty (Restoration Hardware vs. Serena & Lilly), is it a statement piece that screams for attention (Anthropologie)... does it have legs or rest flat on the ground, what kind of hardware does it have, how are the drawers configured, etc.

With a list of preferable design characteristics , functionality, and size requirements, it's time to select your piece!
This "beacy" Frontgage dresser retailed for $4,500. Over budget and not exactly what my client was looking for, we used this as inspiration to create exactly what they were looking for.
Select Your Piece
When selecting a piece to refinish I recommend​ looking around your home to see what you already own.
​Do you have an old, outdated piece of furniture that is "too good," or "too sentimental" to get rid of... Or the right style but the wrong color... Or something that you love that just needs a facelift? If so, move on to the next step.

If you don't already own the piece you are looking for start by shopping second hand. "They don't make it like they used to!" You can find some very high quality, beautiful, preowned pieces that make refinishing an affordable option.
Search local antique stores, second hand online retailers such as Facebook Marketplace. We can shop for you with your design style, functionality, size, etc. requirements in mind. ​​​
This s an extra large 10 drawer dresser with 3 additional drawers hidden behind the center doors. It's made of solid wood and veneers and was made in America around the 1960-70s. It's an excellent choice!
Make It Yours
Once you have narrowed down the style and finish you'd like for your refinished furniture, found the right piece - either within your own home, purchased second hand or even brand new, we start customizing the finishes to your unique taste and style.

First, paint color.
I use chalk paint furniture paint by Annie Sloan, Jolie, or Autentico as these are the best chalk paint products, in my experience and opinion.
​
Second, design elements.
We will look at the piece to decide what goes, what stays, and what needs to be added. This usually involves updating the hardware, removing outdated embellishments such as trim or ornate woodworking accents etc. or incorporating more modern elements such as legs on a piece without any or exposing the natural wood on some areas while painting others.
