Custom Design Work Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using Our Service. Please also review our general Terms & Conditions here.

Below is a summary of the terms and conditions for requesting custom furniture painting & refinishing work from Rabbit & The Oak.

  1. When customizing design, we offer two (2) choices: 1) client specified designs; and 2) designer's choice.

    1. For client specified designs, specifications will be outlined on the invoice. For

    2. For designer's choice work orders, client grants Rabbit & The Oak permission to make final design choices for the customer's furniture including but not limited to: color, finishes, hardware, style, etc. Details of designer's choice can also be found on the invoice. Please let us know before work begins if you would like to make any changes.

  2. A deposit of at least 50% will be required at the time of drop-off/pick up prior to work beginning. Deposits are typically non-refundable since they commission the start of the work. If work is suspended or cancelled, refunds will be at the discretion of Rabbit & The Oak.

  3. Upon payment of deposit, it will be assumed that you understand and agree to the terms of conditions outlined herein. 

  4. All balances due must be paid before furniture can be picked up and all furniture must be picked up within two (2) weeks of completion. After two (2) weeks following a scheduled pick up there will be a $10 per day storage fee for all furniture not picked up unless otherwise agreed upon. If the remaining balance & storage fees are not paid and furniture is not picked up within 30 days of the agreed upon date, client forfeits any paid deposit and Rabbit & The Oak retains the rights to sell, donate or dispose of the furniture. 

  5. Local furniture delivery less than five (5) miles from our home workshop address of 98 Eleven Levels Rd., Ridgefield, CT may be arranged for an additional fee starting at a minimum of $25.00 per trip based on the distance traveled and ability to transport. Delivery outside of the local area may require additional charges. Distance between 5-15 miles is a $50.00  flat fee and delivery between 15-25 miles of our workshop is a flat $75.00 charge.   6. Humidity and extreme temperatures can delay the finish drying time. We will notify you immediately if your furniture will not be completed in the estimated time quoted.

  7. All hand-painted or stained pieces will have unique, artistic characteristics, that may include brush strokes and/or variation in color.

  8. All sales are final. Custom pieces are nonrefundable. However, your satisfaction is our top priority, and we will work with you to find a solution if satisfaction is below expectations.

  9. If damage is discovered or additional work is needed after the work has started, we will contact you immediately and let you know if we expect the charges to be higher than agreed to amount. Also, if there are any issues with the item(s) once in place at your home please contact us within 48 hours.

  10. Rabbit & The Oak reserves the right to use any photographs, drawings, videos, or other forms of media of the furniture on its websites and social media pages for promotional purposes. Rabbit & The Oak will never use customer identifiable information without your express permission.

Below is a summary of the terms and conditions for requesting custom cabinetry painting & refinishing work from Rabbit & The Oak.

  1. When customizing cabinetry design, we offer two (2) choices: 1) client specified designs; and 2) designer's choice.

    1. For client specified designs, specifications will be outlined on the invoice in detail.

    2. For designer's choice work orders, client grants Rabbit & The Oak permission to make final design choices for the customer's painted cabinetry including but not limited to: color, finishes, hardware, style, etc. Details of designer's choice can also be found on the invoice. Please let us know before work begins if you would like to make any changes.

  2. A deposit of at least 50% will be required prior to work beginning. Deposits are refundable if requested before work has started. If work has begun, and a request to stop services is made, Rabbit & The Oak will refund any deposit minus cost of materials and labor unless an otherwise agreed to refund is made at the sole discretion of Rabbit & The Oak.

  3. Upon payment of deposit, it will be assumed that you understand and agree to the terms of conditions outlined herein. 

  4. All balances due must be paid upon completion of the work and no greater than two (2) weeks beyond the completion date. After two (2) weeks, Rabbit & The Oak reserves the right to charge a late payment fee of up to 1.5% of the total invoice amount for every two (2) week period thereafter payment is not received. 

  5. We do our very best to asses any already damaged aspects of the cabinetry before our quote. However, if damage is discovered or additional work is needed after the work has started that wasn't found in the discovery process, we will notify you immediately and let you know if we expect the charges to be higher than agreed in order to make necessary repairs. Also, if it is discovered after the work has started that there is prior damage we cannot fix or repair that would materially alter the final outcome we will notify you to discuss the best course of action.

  6. Humidity and extreme temperatures can delay the finish drying time. In order to maintain our quoted timeline within the invoice we expect for indoor cabinetry that temperatures are adequately maintained throughout the painting services period as requested by Rabbit & The Oak to ensure proper drying time in line with our estimates.

  7. All hand-painted aspects of cabinetry may have unique, artistic characteristics, that may include brush strokes and other variations.

  8. Once painted cabinetry services are finalized, all services sales are final. Custom painted cabinetry jobs are nonrefundable once complete due to the nature of the service. However, your satisfaction is our top priority, and we will work with you to find a solution if satisfaction is below expectations.

  9. Rabbit & The Oak reserves the right to use any photographs, drawings, videos, or other forms of media of the cabinetry on its websites and social media pages for promotional purposes. Rabbit & The Oak will never use customer identifiable information without your express permission.

Changes to These Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right, at Our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material We will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at Our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use Our Service after those revisions become effective, You agree to be bound by the revised terms. If You do not agree to the new terms, in whole or in part, please stop using the website and the Service.
