Finding beauty and appreciation in the imperfect is what the Japanese call wabi-sabi — the acceptance of transience and imperfection as its own kind of grace. This is what I love most about creating with alcohol ink. It is always imperfect. It cannot be fully controlled. It can even be erased by the very thing that gives it life — alcohol — which feels beautifully poetic to me. And it can be reworked countless times, becoming something entirely new with each attempt.
